Ever been on holiday and the minute you step on to the beach or in the shopping alley you’re caught by all the market traders?
Until you get in the swing of it their pricing structure can seem a nightmare can’t it? But they can teach us a major point that sometimes as business people we forget.
And that is – they do what it takes to get the sale.
I think in selling they call it ‘the alternative close’. When they don’t give you a choice between buying or not buying but between two items. Then call your bluff when you say it’s too expensive.
‘So what do you want to pay then?’ Got you all ways up haven’t they?
And I think that our more sophisticated ways of dealing with clients make us lose sight of that one important thing.
Make the sale.
